Village Botanica, Inc. has developed, through agricultural
research and development, a collection of hibiscus hybrids
that are hardy throughout much of the nation. These unique
perennial woody plants become dormant in the winter when
the canes die back to the crown at ground level. Then, with
the warmth of spring, dormancy is broken and the new canes–more
than the previous year–begin to grow. By early summer,
the canes are actively producing copious quantities of the
brilliant flowers.
